DeKalb County, Georgia's moratorium on new data centers has been extended repeatedly. Most recently, on July 7, 2026, commissioners voted to extend the freeze through March 30, 2027 — the longest extension yet. The July extension followed a surprise June 23, 2026 commission vote to reject a set of proposed permanent data-center regulations from the Planning & Sustainability Department.
