On August 12, 2025 the School Board of Miami-Dade County approved agenda item H-4, sponsored by Board Member Roberto J. Alonso with five co-sponsors. It directs the Superintendent to develop districtwide guidance on students' use of artificial intelligence, including a tiered framework teachers can apply to classroom tasks and assignments; to review and recommend changes to district procedures and rules on acceptable AI use and consequences for misuse; to create resources explaining AI expectations to families and students; and to report back to the Board's Academics, Innovation, Evaluation & Technology Committee on October 1, 2025.
