North Carolina released its AI Strategic Roadmap on July 1, 2026. Developed by the AI Leadership Council that Governor Josh Stein created under Executive Order 24, the roadmap lays out 17 goals organized around three priorities: protecting North Carolinians from AI harms, preparing the workforce for AI, and using AI to improve government service delivery.
