Took effect
July 1, 2026
Applies to
Persons who commit criminal offenses facilitated by AI systems; a code-construction rule applied by courts.
Enforced by
Wyoming prosecutors and courts.

This Wyoming rule confirms that the criminal code applies to conduct carried out with the help of an AI system, and makes clear that using an AI system to commit a crime is not a defense to a criminal charge. Who is protected: The public generally (rule of criminal construction); ensures accountability for AI-assisted crimes.
